Isis Decides It's Time For A Change.....
A
few days ago, I gave Isis a haircut. Usually all this entails is a quick trim of the bangs because we are trying to grow her hair out so I can eventually put her hair up in ponytails. Well, I'm going to have to wait a little while longer for braids and pigtails because yesterday she decided to climb a chair and grab the scissors (they were hidden too) and give herself a trim of the bangs!I had to give her a shorter haircut to accommodate for the unique style she gave herself, and unfortunately I could not erase all of her evidence. She now just looks like she has a bad haircut, ugh!! I hope it grows out a little by Christmas!!
Phase I--Keep all scissors in my underwear drawer from now on!!

Oh no! I remember doing that to my baby sister when we were young. LOL

Yikes, I think I may start locking my scissors away. I keep hearing of the dreaded (no pun intended) hair cutting.
Well the net result is rather charming you have to admit!
Cheers
This is my calling card or link"Whittereronautism"until blogger comments get themselves sorted out.
oh my! i remember my kids doing that. honey, it really does make a cute photo for years from now, sit her on sants's knee and go for it. her future husband will get a kick out of it!

Mikayla did this exact thing about 6 months ago. Our scissors were hidden too!! Her hair was in a pony tail so it could have been much worse - luckily she only got the bangs! If she had cut off all her curls I would have been devastated!! The good thing is it has grown back pretty quickly, it just didn't seem like it at the time.
That picture is still adorable!!
BTW I've tagged you for two memes. If you get a chance I'd love to read your answers.
She is frighteningly resourceful. I can feel my own gray hair starting to go just thatmuch grayer at the prospect of my kids doing something similar. I know they're eminently capable.
Yikes!
when we're tha parent it's easy to focus on the 'bad haircut', but when you're on the ouside looking in it's much easier to see the humor in it.
One of my boys did something simular one time. I was not impressed then. Sure seems funny now though.
Oh no! I've been here before too. :(
All of our scissors are put up out of reach as well.
She's still adorable, no matter what her hair looks like!!!

Oh yeah! I'm familiar with that look. Georgia tried to cut off her pony tail with a pair of scissors a couple of months ago! Isis still looks like a sweetie - uneven bangs and all!!
Just around this time last year my daughter decided she needed a trim. I shrieked and cried when I saw it. Black hair grows at it's own pace you see. A year later, she's got a beautiful head of hair and she no longer thinks about giving herself hair cuts.
She is still adorable!
.... mine actually used craft scissors in school once -
I had to bribe her [AND check everyday to make sure she wasn't snipping]
uh, did I mention mine is 16!!!
She needs a beauty school practice head to play with!
yes Children have very creative skills and are quicker than we realise with them.
oh geeez
Hair grows out. I don't think Isis minds the new look..
I haven't yet met a child that haven't yet cut there hair.
Both of my boys did it and I even did it.
I even gave my doll a hair cut and took me a while to figure out why it didn't grow back.
They all do this Bridget. Actually this is better than most. It'll be okay. They all do it. Have a great day. :)
Wow! It will grow back fast. Probably not funny at the time but will be a good memory. We had to lock all scissors and knives in a tool box with a lock. A real pain.
I think we've all done that at one time or another. One of my 3rd grade students decided she didn't want bangs...but her logic was all wrong. She cut them off to the root...poor thing. She wore bandanas and headbands for a while. LOL

Thankfully, hair grows back out. And quickly for your little one!
she dosen't look that bad, and anyway hair grows back.
Kids always want to cut, so you better hide all the scissors!
Blessings!
Good idea, that, of keeping the scissors in the underwear drawer! Giving yourself a bad haircut and embarrassing your mom is part of growing up, isn't it? This is a cute picture and a cute story.
Oh no! I'm so glad I didn't have to deal with any of that. But Lois is right...it will grow out.
Oh, Bridget, I'm sorry, but I had to giggle....my kiddos always seem to "need a new look" just before we are going to be taking family photos! Both of the older girls cut their hair just before family photos, thankfully M and r have never felt it necessary to cut their own hair :)
Blessings honey!

My youngest niece has beautiful hair... in the summer, when you watch her running through the yard, she looks like the Coppertone Baby.
Well, that was until a couple of weeks ago when the middle niece brought scissors home from pre-school and proceeded to cut her younger sister's hair!
LOL I think weve all done that at some time or another
I sure remember doing it on more than one occasion when I was a child and hiding the hair behind the sewing machine table
