Make It From Scratch #36 Carnival

Welcome to another addition of "Make it From Scratch", where talented bloggers share their wonderful ideas and projects to inspire you to create something new.

Challenge yourself to make something new and share it on your blog, then enter it in the Carnival. More details can be found HERE. These projects can be items you have made for the first time, or tried and true classics that you would like to share.

The first week of the month is dedicated to things made from scratch for the first time and other weeks can be either first time creations or something you have made before.

Please be sure to check out what is going on next week on the 37th edition of Make it From Scratch, hosted by A Penny Closer.

In The Kitchen:

  • Innside Montana-Your Home at the Range presents Going with the grain... in life and in the kitchen. Posted here is a collection of delicious fall recipes including; maple pecan granola, pumpkin apple butter and several more. This post definitely put me in the fall spirit!
  • Laura Williams Musings presents her Basic Cobbler Recipe. By using this basic recipe, you can extrapolate and make many different varieties. Sounds delicious.
  • Lisa from Lisa's Cookbook shares her recipe for Crab Cake Casserole. It was her first time making this dish and she used real crab and it turned out wonderfully.
  • Stephanie at Stop The Ride shares her Grandmother's delicious recipe for Amish Date Pudding. I can't wait to try it, Stephanie.
  • Deborah from What's In My Kitchen? presents OH NO! Green Tomato Salsa. She shares her recipe with us and also some great photos.
  • Melissa at A Penny Closer educates us with Reducipe--Crabbies. She share with us a delicious recipe using imitation crab meat that is not only tasty but light on the food budget.

On The Crafty Side:
  • Mel over at Bean Sprouts presents a cozy microwave bean bag with a cute face, to comfort a sick child at bedtime. She and Her kids made this fun project together. Run over to her blog to see her beautiful results.
  • The Frugal Panda shows us How To Be A Frugal Gardener. Here you will find a very thorough guide on how to keep a beautiful garden yet not spending a fortune doing it. A wonderful reference guide!
  • Bridget over at "Miles To Go Before We Sleep" shows us How To Carve and Puree A Pumpkin which is a step-by-step guide on how to prepare a fresh pumpkin to incorporate in recipes. Economical and a really fun kid friendly project.
  • Joanie over at Nini Makes has created a Tutorial For A Tooth Pouch. She includes instructions on how to make your own, and she also mentions that it would be a great starter project for children too.

On The Other Side:
  • Y2K Hippie is working with black walnuts, has a sprouting project going on, and is working on other interesting things. Hop on over to this blog and check it out.
  • Tara from Walkabout shares a post entitled The 59 Cent Cold Remedy. She discusses using hydrogen peroxide to fight off an impending cold. She used this method with her daughter to prevent a sinus infection and it worked!

**That concludes this edition. Submit your blog article to the next edition of make it from scratch! using the carnival submission form. Past posts and future hosts can be found on the blog carnival index page.**

The green tomato salsa was quite timely for me, as I have several green ones still on the vine and a frost warning tonight.

Thanks!

Thanks for hosting! I was pleasantly surprised to find this post up. I was following the comment you left from my contribution (Pastel de Tres Leches) to a previous edition. it looks like you've done a good job with this roundup. :)

I just love MIFS. I look forward to each and every single one of these.

Many times I just save them because I want to do something someone has show but I just can't seem to find the time. So, today I am setting aside some time and I am going to try something on here (I can't wait!)

Thanks for hosting this. I just love the whole idea behind MIFS. So, many nice people willing to share how they do things. It's just great!
