Friday's Feast (#2)

Appetizer
Tell about a time when you had to be brave.

A time when I had to be brave was when, adopting our Chinese daughter, I had to travel to China ALONE to go pick her up. My husband was unable to travel so I origianally went with my mother-in-law and she ended up in a Chinese hospital with appendicitis. I spent two weeks travelling around China by myself and came home on the plane with her by myself.

Soup
Which upcoming movie are you excited about seeing?

Shrek the Third!!

Salad
Name an item you try to always have on hand.

Diapers. We have three still not potty trained--need I say any more?

Main Course
Imagine the most relaxing room you can think of. Now describe it!

My room. It is quiet, away from everyone else. It has a soft rocking recliner in it with a television. Also, there is filtered light coming through the windows.

Dessert
On a scale of 1 to 10 (10 being highest), how spiritual or religious are you? 8(eight)

Hi,

I totally forgot about Shrek 3! I wish I would have put that down now. :) I can't imagine how scary it must have been for you to travel around China alone, just thinking about it makes me shiver. Have a blessed weekend.

Than I am always brave because I like to travel alone, lol even through a quite exotic country !

Wow, that is a great story re: bravery! I can't imagine being in such a 'different' culture, not speaking the language, all by myself. Kudos to you!
I'm sure the experience and knowledge gained in those two weeks is something you fondly look at and are so proud of, and so important to be able to share with your daughter!

Nice feast :), quite a brave move to travel to a country like China with your mother-in-law. Such a major country where you have no links at all probably and knowing not a single word of the language up front without a doubt.

I forgot about Shrek 3. Wow! You have 3 in diapers, these words come to mind, "We're Ch-Ch-CHANGING!
I would be scared too, to travel around China by myself. I spent a month in Mexico with friends, but I'm not sure I'd want to travel in a strange country by myself, so I'd say you were very brave.
Thank you for the fantastic feast.
Happy Mother's Day and have a wonderful weekend.

Wow! Your appetizer is great! I have been to a foreign land and was very happy to have someone with me. IT helped that she had been there before.
